After composition inspection, the new product fully meets the requirements of technical standards. The successful production of DL839 electroslag ingot marks that Northeast Special Steel Co., Ltd. has overcome the key technical problems in the high-requirement special steel production field, providing strong support for its further expansion of the special steel market and enhancement of core competitiveness.

According to the report that as a new variety of high-requirement special steel, there are two major core technical difficulties in the production process of DL839 electroslag ingot. This variety has strict requirements for nitrogen content control, and the fluctuation of nitrogen content will directly affect the stability of material performance. The forging module is highly sensitive to "white spot" defects, and it is necessary to strictly avoid the risk of hydrogen-induced cracks from the smelting source. To overcome the above two technical barriers, the forging plant of Northeast Special Steel Co., Ltd. formulated a three-level control plan covering the whole production process, and made careful plans, scientific judgments and precise measures from aspects such as raw material control, production process monitoring and contingency plan formulation. Finally, the No. 6 and No. 7 electroslag furnaces successfully completed the first production task of the new variety of DL839 electroslag ingot, and successfully produced a total of 6 electroslag ingots in two specifications with diameters of 758mm and 938mm.
