Recently, the Health Commission of Liaoning Province issued the "Notice on Announcing the List of High-quality Departments for Preventive Treatment of Diseases in Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospitals in Liaoning Province". Seven institutions across the province were recognized as "Project Units of High-quality Departments for Preventive Treatment of Diseases in Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospitals in Liaoning Province". Dalian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Dalian Hospital of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine were successfully selected, indicating the remarkable achievements Dalian has made in building the preventive health-care service system of traditional Chinese medicine. This selection is an important measure for the Health Commission of Liaoning Province to implement the strategy of strengthening the province through traditional Chinese medicine and comprehensively improve the construction level of departments for preventive treatment of diseases in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals. The selection of the two hospitals in Dalian not only recognizes their achievements in standardized department management, service model innovation, clinical technology application and talent team building, but also represents the specific results of Dalian's continuous deepening of the reform of traditional Chinese medicine and the promotion of high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine.

The reporter learned from the Health Commission of Dalian that in recent years, Dalian has thoroughly implemented the strategy of inheriting, innovating and developing traditional Chinese medicine, and actively promoted the coordinated development of traditional Chinese and Western medicine to benefit more citizens with traditional Chinese medicine. As of now, there are 740 traditional Chinese medicine institutions in Dalian, achieving full coverage of traditional Chinese medicine institutions run by city-and county-level governments. All general hospitals, maternal and child health-care hospitals and infectious disease hospitals at the secondary level and above have set up traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment subjects; 163 community health service centers and township health centers have established traditional Chinese medicine clinics and are equipped with traditional Chinese medicine practitioners; more than 80% of community health service stations and village clinics can provide traditional Chinese medicine services. A four-level traditional Chinese medical service network covering "city, county, township (community) and village" has basically been established, enabling citizens to enjoy convenient traditional Chinese medicine services at their doorsteps.

Taking this selection as an opportunity, Dalian will make every effort to promote the overall improvement of the service ability of "preventive treatment of diseases" in traditional Chinese medicine: play the leading role of the benchmarks, summarize and promote the advanced experience of the two hospitals to form a demonstration and leading effect; strengthen standard construction, guide traditional Chinese medicine hospitals at the secondary level and above to continuously optimize services in accordance with the "Guidelines for the Construction and Management of Departments for Preventive Treatment of Diseases in Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospitals"; promote collaborative innovation, encourage traditional Chinese medicine hospitals at the secondary level and above to explore and establish a linkage mechanism between "preventive treatment of diseases" and clinical departments to provide citizens with all-life-cycle and integrated traditional Chinese health management services.
