The competition venues are ready
From September 17th to 28th, Dalian will host the 2025 FISU Football World Cup. Yesterday, the General Coordination Department of the event's Executive Committee Office introduced that the preparations for the event are fully ready to ensure refined and high - standard services to welcome guests from around the world.
The competition support system has passed three strict inspections and acceptance by the FISU. Nine competition venues have been confirmed, located at the Dalian Football Youth Training Base, the Dalian Sports Center, and the Dalian Suoyuwan Football Stadium respectively. The schedule includes 11 match days and 62 games in total. In terms of reception support, all participating teams will stay at the football youth training base, while FISU officials and referees will stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the sports center. The base is equipped with 13 restaurants (including one halal restaurant), and the transportation ports cover Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, Dalian Station, and Dalian North Station. At the same time, Dalian has included 13 local universities in the executive committee to provide exclusive services of "1 accompanying teacher + 2 accompanying volunteers + 2 security officers" for each team. Through multiple rounds of training, foreign etiquette, ethnic religion, emergency safety, and business processes are strengthened to comprehensively demonstrate the excellent organizational and management capabilities of Dalian.
In this event, Dalian will have 24 university teams from 17 countries on five continents, including 16 men's teams and 8 women's teams. The participants include nearly 700 college athletes, referees, and officials. Among them, many participating universities such as the University of Sydney, the University of Auckland, and the University of Wollongong are ranked among the top 500 in the QS World University Rankings, highlighting the high - standard nature of the event.
According to the report that a highlight of this year's event is that the inter - university confrontation system has replaced the traditional national delegation model. Athletes will fight side by side in their alma mater's uniforms, which will greatly enhance the team's sense of participation and cohesion. The four Chinese teams are Beihang University, the men's team of Yanbian University, and the women's teams of Beijing Normal University and Shanghai University of Sport. The women's team of Beijing Normal University was the champion of the 2023 event in Jinjiang, and the women's team of Shanghai University of Sport was the champion of the 2024 Asian FISU Football Championship.
