Are there any parasites? Can you eat meat with confidence? The answers to these questions are hidden in the sharp eyes and professional operation of animal quarantine officers. In order to further improve the standardization level of animal quarantine work in our city and improve the professional skills of animal quarantine employees in our city, recently, the final of the 2025 Dalian Animal Quarantine Skills Competition, jointly sponsored by the Municipal Textile Agriculture, Forestry and Water Conservancy Trade Union and the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Bureau, undertaken by the Municipal Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center, and co-organized by wafangdian Federation of Trade Unions, wafangdian agriculture and rural bureau, was held in wafangdian. After the preliminary selection, 19 players from 7 agriculture-related districts (cities, counties) and 8 teams at the city level in our city launched a wonderful contest of professionalism and skills.

The final closely focused on the core work of animal quarantine, and set up two competition links: theoretical examination and on-site operation of slaughter quarantine. The theoretical examination covers animal epidemic prevention laws and regulations, quarantine regulations, technical specifications and knowledge of major animal disease prevention and control. After a day of fierce competition, three contestants from wafangdian city, Tang Ni, Du Xingyu and Li Mingju, won the championship, second and third place respectively with their solid theoretical foundation and superb practical skills.

The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Textile Agriculture, Forestry and Water Conservancy Trade Union said that this competition adopted the "trade union +" mode of multi-department cooperation and coordination and linkage between trade unions, which set up a platform for animal quarantine practitioners in our city to exchange experiences, learn skills and show their elegant demeanor, and achieved the purpose of promoting training, learning and application through competition.
