Recently, Dalian Archives has carried out the rescue and restoration of national key archives in an orderly manner, with the first batch involving 55 complete and 2,267 volumes of revolutionary historical archives. This move aims to strengthen the safe storage, development and utilization of precious historical archives and maximize the service life of archives.

In 2024, in accordance with the deployment of the Regional National Key Archives Protection Center (Liaoning Provincial Archives), the Dalian Municipal Archives will conduct a comprehensive investigation of the preservation status of the national key archives in the collection, involving 74 full fonds and 5,254 volumes of archives, distinguishing between incomplete, torn, and creases. Conduct statistical registration of marks, nail holes, adhesions, irregular repairs, etc., establish a database of damaged archives, and complete preparations for rescue and repair. In 2025, the first thing to be included in the scope of rescue and restoration is the collection of revolutionary historical archives, mainly including the archives formed by Dalian local party organizations, the domestic government, trade unions, youth leagues, women's federations and other groups from May 1924 to October 1949. It truly witnesses the party's initial mission and glorious course, is rich party history resources and valuable spiritual wealth, and has important historical value for studying the history of the party leading Dalian people to develop production and support national liberation in the early days of Dalian liberation. In recent years, Dalian Archives has continuously promoted the construction of the standard system of archives technology protection, carried forward the spirit of practicing craftsmen, strengthened the training of professional mounting talents, and made great efforts to rescue and protect the national key archives in the collection.
