World Bank releases global container port performance index, Dalian Port jumps to fourth place in the world

Recently, the World Bank and S&P Global jointly released the Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) 2020-2024. This index covers 403 ports around the world, based on more than 175,000 ship call data and 247 million TEUs of container operations. The report shows that a total of 7 ports in my country will rank among the top ten in 2024, among which Dalian Port's ranking jumped to fourth in the world.

It is understood that the Container Port Performance Index covers indicators such as ship turnaround time, cargo handling operations, infrastructure quality and digital integration, and has become a wide reference for measuring global container port performance benchmarks. In the past three years, Dalian Port Container Terminal has continuously improved its route network, accelerated the construction of digital and intelligent ports, carefully built an excellent service brand, effectively promoted the two-way improvement of development quality and operational efficiency, and achieved a container port performance index ranking from 42nd to 42nd. Steady rise from 14th and 4th places.

According to reports, Dalian Port Container Terminal continues to fill the gap of direct flights on ocean trunk lines, adding a number of direct flights in key shipping areas such as Europe, Central and South America. Up to now, Dalian Port Container Terminal has a total of 106 container routes, covering more than 300 ports in 160 countries and regions around the world, achieving full coverage of the core ports of RCEP member countries. The container throughput of the terminal has maintained rapid growth for four consecutive years. By carefully building two service brands of "high precision" and "excellent speed", Dalian Port Container Terminal has continuously optimized the operation plan of trunk ship and the allocation of internal production resources, further shortened the time of ship in port, and made positive contributions to reducing regional comprehensive logistics costs. Compared with 2020, the current arrival and docking rate of ships at the container terminal of Dalian Port has increased by 42%, the ship operation efficiency has increased by 16%, and the time of vehicles in port has been shortened by 21%.
