Tuberculosis is a major infectious disease that endangers people's health. Our province will further standardize the management of tuberculosis patients in the province and strengthen tuberculosis screening services for key populations.
In order to comprehensively and effectively prevent and control tuberculosis, our province requires all relevant units in various localities to highlight the prevention and control of key populations and key links, fully implement the comprehensive service mode of "prevention, treatment and management" of disease control institutions, medical institutions and primary medical and health institutions, and build a working mechanism of medical and prevention coordination and medical and prevention integration.
In order to improve the level of patient management and refine health management such as active screening of key populations, our province has made it clear that we will give full play to the role of primary medical and health institutions.
Primary medical and health institutions should promptly carry out supervision and follow-up management of tuberculosis patients within the jurisdiction notified and managed by the tuberculosis prevention institutions during home medication treatment.
When primary medical and health institutions conduct the first household follow-up of tuberculosis patients, quarterly follow-up of diabetic patients managed within their jurisdiction, and annual physical examination of the elderly over 65 years old, they should screen the close contacts of patients, diabetic patients, and the elderly over 65 years old for suspicious symptoms of tuberculosis.
Free tuberculin skin test (PPD) or chest x-ray examination is carried out once a year for the elderly over 65 years old and diabetic patients who are included in health management.
After receiving the notice from the tuberculosis prevention institution, the primary medical and health institutions should assist in on-site tracking of tuberculosis patients and suspected tuberculosis patients who have been reported but have not visited designated tuberculosis medical institutions in accordance with the tracking procedures in the Technical Specifications.
In addition, our province requires multiple measures to strengthen the diagnosis, treatment and management of drug-resistant tuberculosis patients. All patients with positive etiology should be screened for drug resistance in all localities, and drug-resistant patients should be found in time, so that they should be checked and treated.
