Recently, the Medical Dialectics Branch of Dalian Medical Association, the hospice care center of Dalian Fourth People's Hospital, together with many experts from Dalian Medical University and the volunteer team of "Ningxin Juli" medical graduate students, went to the community health service center of Zhongchang Street in Jinzhou District to carry out popular science activities on the theme of health care and hospice care. Many geriatrics, rehabilitation medicine, medical humanities experts and people in the industry in our city have carried out popular science on the mode of combining medical care with health care, innovative home medical services, and hospice care and medical insurance policies in our city. At present, "hospice care" has begun to take shape in Dalian, and three hospitals in our city have become provincial pilot hospitals, namely Dalian Fourth People's Hospital, Zhuanghe City Central Hospital and Dalian Free Trade Zone Hospital.
Hospice care, as an important way of caring for the end of life, is gradually being recognized and accepted by the general public. At present, the designated hospitals for hospice care in our city implement the settlement of medical insurance funds according to the daily bed expenses, and mainly provide hospice care ward services for patients with terminal tumors whose survival time is less than 3 months.
With the rapid development of society, hospice care has attracted more and more attention from all sectors of society. The director of the hospice care center of Dalian Fourth People's Hospital said that hospice care, also known as hospice care, provides comprehensive care for patients threatened by diseases or elderly patients at the end stage of diseases, including the control of pain and other symptoms. It combines medical expertise with medical humanities, and makes every effort to help patients live with dignity and quality, and get better medical services and humanistic care, so as to alleviate physical, mental and psychological pain. In the past four years, the hospice care center of our hospital has provided services for more than 2,000 patients with end-stage cancer. The maximum age of the patients admitted is 103 years old and the minimum age is 8 years old.
