Yesterday, Chen Shaowang, deputy secretary of the municipal party committee and mayor, met with French ambassador to China Bai Yutang and his party in Dalian. Vice Mayor Leng Xuefeng and Consul General Luo Yirui of the French Consulate General in Shenyang attended the meeting.

On behalf of the municipal party committee and municipal government, Chen Shaowang welcomed Bai Yutang and his party. He said that Dalian is fully implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Central Economic Work Conference, thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of Xi's important speeches and instructions on the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China, Liaoning, and Dalian, and deepening all-round, multi-field, and in-depth opening up to the outside world at a high level, and promoting the effective improvement of quality and reasonable growth of quantity of the economy. Dalian attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with all walks of life in France, and has established sister city relations with le havre. Dalian French Alliance is the only non-profit organization and French cultural exchange center in Northeast China that officially teaches French. The Dalian Friendship Economic and Trade Delegation visited France in February this year to hold working consultations with relevant enterprises. Executives from Veolia Group and Axens Company paid a return visit to Dalian respectively to discuss specific cooperation projects. A delegation of French small and medium-sized enterprises recently came to China to explore ways to further deepen cooperation. Up to now, 83 French enterprises have invested and developed in Dalian.

Chen Shaowang said that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France and the Sino-French Year of Cultural Tourism. We will thoroughly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and continue to expand pragmatic exchanges and cooperation between Dalian and France. It is hoped that the French Embassy in China will give full play to its role as a bridge, boost industrial and economic cooperation between the two sides, promote more French enterprises to invest and start businesses, and carry out pragmatic cooperation in the fields of green industry, clean energy, business services, intensive processing of agricultural and fishery products, etc. Promote port and shipping logistics trade cooperation between the two sides, and comprehensively improve the energy level of the shipping and logistics industries of the two places. Promote the cooperation between sister cities between the two sides, promote the innovative exchange mechanism and enrich the exchange content between le havre and Dalian, promote the exchanges and cooperation between the two cities to improve quality and efficiency, achieve stability and far-reaching, and jointly create a bright future of win-win cooperation between sister cities. Promote cultural exchanges between the two sides, continue to expand exchanges and interactions in the fields of education, cultural tourism, sports, youth, etc., and promote the creation of cultural exchange platforms and demonstration projects between the two countries in China. We will continue to create a stable, fair, transparent and predictable market-oriented, legal and international first-class business environment, and provide better services for all kinds of enterprises to invest and develop in China.

Bai Yutang conveyed the greetings of Le Havre Mayor Edward Philippe to Dalian citizens. He said that the French Embassy in China will continue to promote deeper cooperation between all walks of life in France and Dalian in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, education, humanities, etc., and push France-China relations to bear new fruits.
