Ganjingzi District is located in the downtown area of Dalian, bordering Jinzhou District in the northeast, Shahekou District in the south, Lvshunkou District in the southwest, Yellow Sea in the east and south and Bohai Sea in the north.

Ganjingzi District is fully covered by the three-dimensional transportation network of sea, land and air. Zhoushuizi International Airport, New Airport, Dalian North Railway Station, Shenhai Expressway Exit and Dalian Port Passenger Ro-Ro Terminal converge here, which is an important hub for Dalian's external transportation, trade and logistics.
