Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicized the "Green Manufacturing List in 2023", and two parks in Liaoning Province were selected as "Green Industrial Parks in 2023", and Changxing Island Economic and Technological Development Zone was listed on the list.

This batch of green manufacturing lists aims to implement the "14th Five-Year Plan for Industrial Green Development", fully implement green manufacturing, and help the industrial sector achieve the goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality". Recommended by the local authorities of industry and information technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized experts to review the energy utilization, resource utilization, infrastructure, industry, ecological environment and operation management of the declared parks, and 104 industrial parks in China were selected as "green industrial parks".

In recent years, Changxing Island has paid attention to green development, promoted technological progress, continuously improved energy structure, improved energy efficiency, actively promoted energy cascade utilization, waste heat and pressure recovery and photovoltaic power generation projects, continuously improved energy output rate and clean energy use ratio, encouraged priority use of renewable energy to replace non-renewable energy, and successfully cultivated Hengli Refining & Chemical, Hengli Petrochemical, Hengli Chemical and Tianrui Cement to become national "green factories". Hengli Chemical was awarded "2022 Key Energy Industry Energy Efficiency Leader Enterprise" At the same time, by vigorously developing high-tech industries, green industries and modern service industries, the park continuously improves the green index of industries. The award of "National Green Industrial Park" is another national honor after Changxing Island was awarded "National New Industrialization Demonstration Base", which marks new achievements in green, low-carbon and high-quality development of Changxing Island, accelerates the pace of comprehensive green transformation, and realizes the leap of green industrial park from provincial to national level.
