On the afternoon of September 19th, Premier Li had a telephone conversation with Vietnamese Prime Minister Fan Mingzheng in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai.

Li said that China and Vietnam are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. General Secretary Xi and General Secretary communicate frequently, which strongly promotes the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to strengthen exchanges at all levels and deepen pragmatic cooperation with Vietnam in various fields, which will not only benefit the two peoples, but also help maintain regional peace and stability and promote common development and prosperity.

Li pointed out that the current world economic recovery is weak, and various uncertainties and complex factors are intertwined. Affected by unexpected factors, China's economy is withstanding downward pressure, making efforts to stabilize employment and prices, keeping its operation in a reasonable range, and showing an overall recovery trend. China is happy to see Vietnam's steady economic growth, which is also conducive to the stability of East Asian industrial chain and supply chain. We are willing to give full play to the complementary advantages of industries with Vietnam, expand economic and trade cooperation, ensure smooth customs clearance at border crossings, expand imports of marketable Vietnamese high-quality agricultural products, welcome Vietnamese students to "be willing to return" and increase direct flights between the two countries on the premise of doing a good job in epidemic prevention.

Li emphasized that peace and stability in the South China Sea are in the common interest of all parties. China is willing to take the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea as an opportunity to strive for an early conclusion of the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea, give full play to the wisdom of all parties, focus on the overall situation, promote cooperation, manage differences, and build the South China Sea into a sea of peace, friendship and cooperation.

Fan Mingzheng said that consolidating and developing Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership is the top priority of Vietnam's foreign policy. Vietnam is willing to maintain regular high-level exchanges with China, strengthen strategic coordination, properly handle differences, promote the deepening of Vietnam-China cooperation in key areas such as trade and investment, customs clearance and humanities, and bring more positive results to bilateral relations.

Xiao Jie participated in the above activities.
