Abdominal pain is characterized by acute onset, rapid progress, relatively difficult diagnosis, high misdiagnosis rate and missed diagnosis rate. In daily life, patients with abdominal pain often need to move to multiple specialties and undergo several examinations before they can make clear the cause of the disease and the treatment plan. Recently, at the "China Bangchui Island Acute Abdomen International Summit Forum", the first abdominal pain center in Northeast China was established in the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, which is another "green channel" for multidisciplinary joint consultation after chest pain center, stroke center and trauma center.

Abdominal pain, also known as "stomachache", is one of the most common clinical symptoms and one of the most important reasons for patients to see a doctor. Zhang Guixin, director of the Third Department of General Surgery (General Surgery of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine) and the Second Department of Abdominal Emergency Surgery, said that 15% ~ 40% of people have had abdominal pain, and abdominal pain caused by serious diseases accounts for more than 50% of all abdominal pain. There are many causes of abdominal pain, almost involving internal, external, women, children and other clinical departments. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to diagnose and differentiate abdominal pain. Once misdiagnosis, missed diagnosis or delayed diagnosis occurs, it can cause serious consequences and even endanger life. The establishment of the Abdominal Pain Center of the First Hospital of Great Medicine is to provide professional multidisciplinary comprehensive diagnosis and treatment and convenient and high-quality "one-stop" service for abdominal pain patients, so that abdominal pain patients can get rapid diagnosis and professional and timely treatment, and save the lives of acute abdominal pain patients to the greatest extent and relieve their pain.

The Third Department of General Surgery (Abdominal Emergency Surgery) of the First Hospital of Great Medical University is a national key discipline, a national regional specialized diagnosis and treatment center, and a national key clinical specialty. In 2002, it took the lead in carrying out specialized diagnosis and treatment of acute abdomen in China, and undertook the diagnosis and treatment of most severe acute abdomen in southern Liaoning. In the ranking of the best disciplines in soft science in China, it ranked third in China for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021. Shang Dong, vice president of the hospital and leader of the discipline of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, said that the abdominal pain center will be set up in the emergency department of the First Hospital of Great Medicine. At that time, abdominal emergency surgery, emergency ICU, digestive medicine, digestive endoscopy, infection department, interventional department and vascular surgery will realize multidisciplinary joint consultation, and make every effort to ensure that abdominal pain patients can be effectively diagnosed and treated at the first time. At the same time, laparoscopy, choledochoscopy, gastrointestinal endoscopy, ERCP and other multi-mirror simultaneous combined and integrated operating rooms will be used to provide advanced and minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment technologies for patients, and rapid rehabilitation of traditional Chinese medicine will be combined during perioperative period, so as to give full play to the advantages of TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment for patients suitable for conservative treatment and provide the best diagnosis and treatment scheme for patients with abdominal pain.
