Central Military Commission Held a Ceremony to Promote the Rank of General

The ceremony for the promotion of the Central Military Commission to the rank of general was grandly held in Beijing Bayi Building on September 6th. Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission, issued a writ to officers who were promoted to the rank of general.

 

At about 5:20 pm, the promotion ceremony began with the solemn national anthem. Xu Qiliang, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, read out the order signed by Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission, to promote the rank of general. Zhang Youxia, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, presided over the promotion ceremony.

 

The officers promoted to the rank of general this time are: Wang Haijiang, commander of the Western Theater, Lin Xiangyang, commander of the Central Theater, Dong Jun, commander of the Navy, Chang Dingqiu, commander of the Air Force, and Xu Xueqiang, president of the National Defense University.

 

The five officers who were promoted to the rank of general came to the rostrum with neat appearance and full of energy. Xi Jinping issued a writ to them and congratulated them. Five officers wearing epaulets of the rank of general saluted Xi Jinping and all the comrades attending the ceremony, and the whole audience applauded warmly.

 

The promotion ceremony ended with loud military songs. Later, Xi Jinping and other leading comrades took a group photo with the officers who were promoted to the rank of general.

Wei Fenghe, Li Zuocheng, Miao Hua and Zhang Shengmin, members of the Central Military Commission, as well as the main leaders of various departments of the Military Commission and large units stationed in Beijing attended the promotion ceremony.
