On September 10th, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 18th China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit.


Xi Jinping pointed out that since the establishment of dialogue relations between China and ASEAN for 30 years, the all-round cooperation between the two sides has been deepening, and they are each other's largest trading partners and become the most dynamic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. Since the outbreak of the epidemic in novel coronavirus pneumonia, the two sides have joined hands to fight the epidemic and overcome the difficulties, and interpreted the spirit of community of destiny of watching and helping each other and sharing weal and woe with practical actions.


Xi Jinping emphasized that in November last year, at the opening ceremony of the 17th China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, I put forward four initiatives on building a closer China-ASEAN community of destiny, which received positive responses from ASEAN countries and cooperation in related fields continued to advance. Facing the future, China is willing to enhance strategic mutual trust with ASEAN, deepen cooperation in anti-epidemic, economy and trade and other fields, promote the early entry into force and implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, build a "the belt and road initiative" with high quality, build a higher level of strategic partnership, and jointly safeguard the good momentum of prosperity and development in the region.


The 18th China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit opened in Nanning, Guangxi on the same day, with the theme of "Sharing New Opportunities of New Land and Sea Passages and Building a Community of Destiny between China and ASEAN", which was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the economic and trade authorities of 10 ASEAN governments and the ASEAN Secretariat.
