Li Keqiang Telephoned Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan

On the morning of May 20th, Premier Li Keqiang had a telephone conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai.

 

Li Keqiang said that China-Pakistan friendship goes back to ancient times. Tomorrow marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. President Xi Jinping and President Alwi will exchange congratulatory messages. It is hoped that the two sides will maintain high-level exchanges, strengthen strategic communication, deepen mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation, and maintain and develop the precious wealth of China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.

 

The two prime ministers exchanged views on international cooperation in fighting novel coronavirus pneumonia. Li Keqiang pointed out that the current epidemic is still raging all over the world. Facing the virus, the common enemy of mankind, the international community needs to work together to meet the challenges. China is willing to provide support to Pakistan in fighting the epidemic within its capacity.

 

Imran Khan said that Pakistan is looking forward to strengthening high-level exchanges and promoting strategic cooperation with China, and especially hopes to deepen anti-epidemic cooperation under the current situation. Pakistan is willing to work with China to promote new achievements in bilateral relations.
