Lushunkou District strengthened quality and safety system construction of agricultural products.

Faced with the urban agricultural development of this year, Lushunkou District, based on the principle of guaranteeing food quality and safety, has strengthened quality and safety system construction of agricultural products including grains, vegetables, fruits, meat, egg and milk, aiming at promoting healthy development of agricultural economy in Lushunkou District.

This year, during the agricultural production, Lushunkou District has actively established and perfected the system construction of whole-process regulation on safe and pollution-free grains, vegetables and fruits, intensified law enforcement and regulation on agricultural production, fortified check and supervision on agricultural inputs and enhanced drug residues detection on fruits and vegetables. The whole district has initially completed “Five Systems” construction, namely, input products inspection system, production standard system, quality control system, responsibility traceability and market access system and established whole-process monitoring on agricultural and livestock products with follow-up quality and traceable responsibility from the origin of production to the table, which makes the agricultural products including Lvshun Cherry, Juicy Pear, green vegetables and millet become brand agricultural products and enjoy great popularity. This year, over 50 million tons of Lvshun Cherry have been harvested and helped farmers earn almost 100 million yuan. The project “Establishing whole-process monitoring system for green, safe and pollution-free fruits and vegetables” has been advanced orderly, with four agricultural enterprises in Sanjianbao Street as the pilots.

The husbandry in the whole district has achieved healthy and steady development, successfully completed two key tasks of animal epidemic prevention and control in Spring and Summer respectively and carried out 18 batches of surveys on animal epidemic and 2 patches of animal antibody detection, with poultry immunity rate up to 100%, mass immunity density rate over 90% and pass rate of antibody immunity over 75%. Efforts also have been made to strengthen inspection on hazardous substances including animal slaughter, “lean meat powder” and “melamine” so as to guarantee the livestock product safety of meat, eggs, milk, etc. and promote the development of husbandry industry. During the first three quarters of this year, the number of feeding pigs has amounted to 105 thousand, with 145 thousand cattle, nearly 2000 cows, 14 thousand sheep and 7.18 million poultry, and the total amount of meat, eggs and milk has been up to 38 thousand accounting for 84.4% of the annual planning.
