Off-shore Water Quality of the Bohai Sea along Dalian Is Improving

From July 6th to 7th, Wang Hong, director of the State Oceanic Administration, came to Dalian to investigate the marine eco-environmental protection in Bohai, accompanied by vice-governor Zhao Huaming. Deputy mayor Hao Ming reported to the visiting group.



It is reported that, under the guidance of State Oceanic Administration, Liaoning provincial Party committee, government and Department of Ocean and Fisheries for years, Dalian has implemented the requirements stipulated in the documents, such as “CCCPC's "Opinion on accelerating the construction of ecological civilization", “State Oceanic Administration’ implementation plan of marine ecological civilization (2015-2020)” and “Opinions of the State Oceanic Administration on further strengthening the ecological environmental protection in the Bohai Sea”, involving marine eco-environmental protection and has adhered to making scientific and intensive use of marine resources to promote the construction of marine ecological civilization.



In recent years, the off-shore water quality of the Bohai Sea along Dalian coast has been stable and improving. According to the monitoring results from 2013 to 2016, the first and second class seawater area of off-shore waters of the Bohai Sea increased from 59.3% in 2013 to 80% in 2016, with an increase of 20.7%; the third class seawater area decreased from 25% in 2013 to 10.4% in 2016, which decreased by 14.6%; the fourth class seawater area decreased from 10.8% in 2013 to 4.4% in 2016, which decreased by 6.4%; the seawater area lower than fourth class fell to 4.2% in 2016. The off-shore water quality of the Bohai Sea along the Dalian coast is improving.
