President Xi Jinping exchanges congratulatory messages with President Bolsonaro of Brazil’s Federal Republic on August 15 to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
“China and Brazil are both large developing countries and important emerging market countries”, Xi Jining says in a congratulatory message. “Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 45 years ago, China-Brazil relations have been strengthened over a long period of time, and practical cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results, bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples and becoming a model of unity, cooperation and joint development among major developing countries. At present, both China and Brazil are in a critical period of national development, with huge potential and broad prospects for cooperation. I attach great importance to the development of China-Brazil relations, and I am ready to work with President Bolsonaro to draw up a blueprint for China-Brazil relations, push the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Brazil to a higher level, bring benefits to the two countries and their peoples, and make new contributions to world peace, stability and prosperity.”
In his congratulatory message, Bolsonaro says: “Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Brazil and China, the two countries have always upheld the goal of common development. The continued growth of bilateral trade and investment and the sound cooperation in strategic areas such as space fully embody the essence of mutual benefit and reciprocity in Brazil-China relations. This year, the two countries have had frequent high-level exchanges and maintained a smooth dialogue between the two governments. I am ready to work with President Xi Jinping to jointly chart the future course of the Brazil-China partnership for the benefit of the two peoples.”
