Xi Jinping Held Talks with Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga

Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Khaltmaa Battulga of President of Mongolia in the Great Hall of the People on the 25th.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Mongolia are linked by mountains and rivers and are good neighbors, friends and partners. At present, the relationship between the two countries has entered a fast track. China will continue to actively support Mongolia's economic development and the improvement of people's livelihood based on the concept of sincerity and mutual benefit. Together with Mongolia, China will firmly grasp the correct political direction, make overall plans to promote all-round cooperation, be a strategic partner of mutual respect and trust, a partner of mutual benefit and mutual benefit, a friendly partner of frequent visits and a multilateral partner of mutual assistance, and strive to build a China-Mongolia relationship that meets the requirements of the times and push the bilateral relationship to a new level.

Xi Jinping stressed that the two sides should strengthen political leadership and strategic communication, maintain high-level exchanges in various fields, and respect each other's core interests and major concerns. We should actively promote the docking of Belt and Road Initiative with the "road to development" and push forward the construction of China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor to achieve more substantial results. Efforts should be made to optimize the trade structure and tap the potential for cooperation. It is necessary to strengthen the exchange at border ports, build a border of common development and prosperity, and provide more convenience for trade and personnel exchanges between the two sides. People-to-people exchanges will be held around the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Mongolia this year. We should strengthen communication and coordination in international and regional affairs and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability and the interests of developing countries.

Khaltmaa Battulga said that the development of a long-term good-neighborly and friendly partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation with China is Mongolia's firm priority foreign policy. Mongolia firmly adheres to the one-China policy and believes that Taiwan and Tibet are both part of China, and the affairs involving Taiwan and Tibet are all China's internal affairs. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and China, Mongolia is willing to work with China to plan the development direction and goals of the future relations between the two countries, to make a good connection between the "Road to Development" initiative and Belt and Road Initiative, to strengthen cooperation in trade, electricity, agriculture and animal husbandry, infrastructure construction, civil aviation and other fields, and to jointly promote the construction of Mongolia-China economic corridor. Mongolia appreciates China's important role in maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and is willing to strengthen coordination with China in regional affairs.

After the talks, the heads of state of the two countries also witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation documents such as the joint cooperation plan to promote Belt and Road Initiative and the "Road to Development" initiative.

Before the talks, Xi Jinping held a welcome ceremony for Khaltmaa Battulga in the square outside the east gate of the Great Hall of the People. Ding Xuexiang, Yang Jiechi, Cai Dafeng, Wang Yi, Yang Chuantang, He Lifeng and others attended.
