Xi Jinping recalled happily the history of friendly exchanges between China and France. Xi Jinping pointed out that France was the first major western country to establish formal diplomatic relations with New China, and was also the first country to establish strategic partnership and dialogue with China and to develop civil nuclear energy cooperation with China. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. It is of special significance for me to visit France in such a special year.
Xi Jinping stressed that the current international situation and the relations between the two countries have undergone great changes, but several points have not changed. First, China's emphasis on Sino-French relations has not changed. China has always regarded France as its priority partner. The people of the two countries have special friendly feelings, which is a valuable asset. We should inherit and carry forward it so as to keep Sino-French relations in the forefront of the development of the times.
Second, the common pursuit of peace, development, fairness and justice between China and France has never changed. Both China and France are nations with foresight and independent spirit. Both stand for safeguarding the basic norms of international relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, pursuing multilateralism in international affairs and opposing protectionism and unilateralism. We are committed to building an open world economy and cooperating to meet the common challenges facing mankind. The idea of building a community of human destiny that I have repeatedly expounded has many similarities with the idea of " one planet" put forward by the president. China and France have successfully cooperated on many occasions in areas such as climate change and have played an active leading role in the world.
Third, the mutually beneficial and win-win nature of Sino-French cooperation has not changed. The history of Sino-French cooperation shows that the two sides are not a zero-sum game. For a long time to come, the economies of the two countries will still have strong complementary advantages. China's sustained development and expanded opening-up will create a series of new cooperation opportunities and provide broader cooperation space for the two countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out that maintaining healthy and stable Sino-French relations is of great significance to the long-term development of the two countries and will also have an important impact on the world. The two sides should continue to explore new areas of cooperation, foster new growth points of cooperation, and push for the agreed joint construction of " the Belt and Road Initiative" and third-party cooperation projects to come to fruition as soon as possible. China is willing to continue to strengthen strategic communication and coordination with France on major issues such as UN affairs, the reform of the World Trade Organization and climate change. China has always supported the construction of European integration and expects France to play a more active leading and promoting role in China-EU relations.
Macron said that his visit to China last year was very successful and pleasant. Over the past year or so, France and China have continuously implemented the important consensus he reached with President Xi Jinping and have vigorously promoted exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, culture, etc. France pays close attention to and attaches great importance to the " the Belt and Road Initiative". France regards China as an important strategic partner and appreciates China's important role and contribution in international affairs such as climate change. France is willing to further close strategic communication and cooperation with China, play a leading role in the comprehensive strategic partnership between France and China, jointly safeguard multilateralism and promote world peace and prosperity.
