Tan Chengxu Meets Luc Lemonnier, Mayor of Le Havre, France

On September 16th, Luc Lemonnier, Mayor of Le Havre, France, led a large-scale trade and education delegation to visit Dalian. Mayor Tan Chengxu met the delegation at the state guesthouse of Goog Island Hotel.

Tan Chengxu welcomed the French guests and introduced the city's economic and social development. He said Dalian is a vibrant city and is known as a romantic and fashion city. Dalian has long been a friendly city with Le Havre in 1985. The two sides have maintained close and pragmatic cooperation in trade, education and culture. In January of this year, Dalian Modern Museum was invited to Le Havre to hold the "Embroidery Charm - Dalian Modern Museum Collection Embroidery Exhibition", which was warmly welcomed by the local people.

In November, relevant medical institutions in Dalian will send medical personnel to the Le Havre Hospital Group for geriatric training. The exchanges and cooperation between the two cities have become a model for Sino-French Friendship City. It is hoped that the visit of the delegation will further deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two cities, promote deeper cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in a wider field and achieve mutual benefit and win-win.

Luc Lemonnier said that Le Havre and Dalian are both gateway cities of the two countries, and there are many similarities in industrial development and livable environment. The two cities have witnessed the fruits of friendship and cooperation for 33 years. Le Havre will take this visit as an opportunity to actively deepen exchanges and cooperation in ports, education, health care, culture, environmental protection and other fields and push the friendly cooperation between the two cities to a new level.
