Established in 2007, the Tohoku Tourism Promotion Agency aims to promote tourism products and routes in the Tohoku region through various activities. Tan Chengxu welcomed the delegation's visit, thanked Japan's Tohoku Tourism Promotion Agency for its strong support for the 29th Dalian Chinese Scholartree Blossom Affairs, and wished the promotion meeting of the seven prefectures in northeastern Japan a complete success.
Tan Chengxu said that as the neighbors connected by waters, Dalian and Japan have a lot of exchanges. Dalian and Tokyo, Osaka and other seven cities are open to traffic, with 69 flights a week. Last year, the number of cruise ships from Dalian to Japan reached 23. From January to July this year, passengers have made more than 120,000 from Dalian to Japan, and a large number of Japanese tourists visited Dalian for sightseeing. The 29th Dalian Chinese Scholartree Blossom Affairs alone attracted more than 1,000 Japanese friends to attend.
Tan Chengxu said that this year marks the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship, especially premier Li Keqiang's recent official visit to Japan, which provides new opportunities for practical cooperation between China and Japan. It’s hoped that the visit of the president of the Tohoku Tourism Promotion Agency and the tourism promotion meeting of the seven prefectures in northeastern Japan can further deepen the exchanges between Dalian and the tourism promotion institutions in the northeast of Japan and promote the in-depth cooperation between Dalian and Japan's northeast region in the fields of tourism, economy and trade, culture, education, etc. so as to realize mutual benefits and win-win.
