Yesterday, the 2019 (33rd) Dalian Import and Export Fair opened in Dalian World Expo Plaza. The fair will last until May 19, with 40 countries and regions and nearly 500 well-known enterprises participating. The scale of it is 15,000 square meters, and there are 29 countries along the "the belt and road initiative" line attend the fair, up 61% from last year. At the exhibition site, commodities from all over the world gathered together, and Dalian residents could buy everything they want around the world at here.
The fair was hosted by Dalian Branch of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Dalian International Chamber of Commerce, and Dalian International Chamber of Commerce Exhibition Company. It was dedicated to building an import-oriented trading platform, with the theme of "making friends, promoting trade, developing markets, and cooperating for win-win", and actively building a high-quality display trading platform for domestic and overseas enterprises. The exhibition included food and beverage, skin care and beauty makeup, handicrafts, etc.
The fair strived to create an economic and trade platform for the "the Belt and Road". According to the person in charge of the organizing committee, our city was located in the regional center of Northeast Asia. Holding this fair was also an important measure for our city to actively join the "the Belt and Road" and build a new system of open economy. Through the trade fair platform, we could improve the exchange and cooperation between our city and the countries and enterprises along the "the Belt and Road". The advanced concepts and high-quality commodities from the countries along the "the Belt and Road” will be brought in to build a multi-level and wide-range cooperation platform in the fields of economy, trade, humanities, tourism, etc.
According to the Statistics, 29 countries along the "the Belt and Road” route, including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Russia, Mongolia, Egypt, Kenya, Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal, Madagascar, Uganda and Zambia, participated in the fair, up 61% from last year.
Yesterday at the exhibition site, an exhibitor from Uganda said in English that this was his third visit to Dalian to participate in the exhibition. He was very interested in Dalian Import and Export Fair and hoped that Dalian citizens would be interested in the African wood carvings he brought and complete the business.
The number of participating countries and overseas enterprises in the fair reached a new high, adding 13 countries such as Russia, Germany and the Netherlands to the previous year.
