2018 (Dalian) summer vacation Chinese culture seminar for Taiwan university students kicked off

In order to promote the traditional Chinese medicine culture of the Chinese nation and strengthen the academic exchange and cooperation in the field of Chinese medicine across the Taiwan Straits, the 2018 (Dalian) summer vacation Chinese culture seminar for Taiwan university students was grandly opened on August 1st in Dalian Chinese Medicine Hospital in accordance with the arrangements made by the relevant departments of the Dalian Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office and the Municipal Health Planning Commission.

 

Director Ma Guoliang of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and Director Zhao Tong of Taiwan Affairs Office of Dalian City delivered speeches at the opening ceremony respectively. Liu Chunming, Director of the Chinese Medicine Department of the Dalian Municipal Health Planning Commission, attended the opening ceremony on behalf of the Dalian Municipal Health Planning Commission. Wu Yixuan, a student from Taiwan university, spoke on behalf of the students. 22 students from Taiwan's traditional Chinese medicine universities and hospital leaders and teachers attended the opening ceremony, which was presided over by Zhang Li, deputy director of Taiwan Affairs Office of Dalian City.

 

Zhang Youmin, director Dalian Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, warmly welcomed Taiwan university students to study in the hospital. He said that Dalian Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital attaches great importance to the academic exchanges and cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine across the Taiwan Straits. The hospital has made careful arrangements for the clinical observation and teaching of Taiwan university students in Dalian. He wished the university students a successful completion of their study tasks and a wonderful summer vacation in Dalian.

 

During the two-day study in Dalian Chinese Medicine Hospital, Bai Changchuan , a national famous traditional Chinese medicine doctor, and Li Jiyan, a provincial famous traditional Chinese medicine doctor, gave lectures in person. The students also visited the rehabilitation center, encephalopathy center and acupuncture clinic of the hospital to observe the acupuncture and massage operations with the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine. The clinical teaching teacher introduced the students to the special traditional Chinese medicine treatments such as Anqiao (an ancient tirm for massage), thunder-fire moxibustion, bamboo jar (for cupping therapy), cupping, etc.
