The International Symposium on the Connectivity of Maritime Silk Road opened on July 17 in Dalian, jointly organized by the National Institute of International Strategy of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (NIIS CASS), Research and Development International of CASS, , Dalian Maritime University and the Think Tank Alliance of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. The three-day symposium invited representatives of governments, businesses and think tanks from China, Indonesia and Sri Lanka to confer on the key fields like project docking, port planning, construction of port-surrounding park, sustainable development of high-tech industries, and agricultural cooperation to advance cooperation among the countries along the Marine Silk Road. Vice Mayor Wen Xueqiong attended the opening ceremony.
Wen Xueqiong said that connectivity is the prerequisite and basis for open cooperation and arteries and veins for the development of Marine Silk Road. Dalian, together with other countries and regions, will deepen cooperation, expand trade and promote cultural communication so as to achieve win-win cooperation.
The Marine Silk Road International Think Tank Alliance was officially established yesterday.
