Nowadays tourism has become one of the most prosperous industries. It plays an important role in increasing economy, satisfying the people’s fundamental needs and improving communication and collaborations between countries and regions.

In the 12th five-year plan, the tourism industry is integrated in national strategy and it becomes pillar industry of national economy. In the first year of the 13th five-year plan, “Going out” strategy of tourism is officially integrated in the national strategy and “Greatly develop the national tourism” is written in the government report. It’s predicted that the tourism market will achieve 6.7 billion people with 2000 billion investment and 7000 billion income in 2020. Both China and the whole world will benefit vigorously from the expansion and development of the tourism industry, which will in turn enhance China’s status and influence in the international society and gain more attraction from the world.

Japan is an essential neighbor of China and the two countries remain close relationship in geography, community and business. The success and the achievements of the 2016 China-Japan Tourism Forum not only greatly improves the development and the communication between the two countries, but also bring a lot of experience for the coming forum. Continuing to focus on “Collaboration, Development and Win-win Achievements”, the forum will further improve the friendly communication between people from the two countries, expand the tourism business and trade between Dalian and Japan and also achieve win-win cooperation in cities and companies.

It’s known that the coming forum will involve a large number of participants and will impact on different fields. The theme of the forum is closely tied to the current era with various activities and distinct character.

So far, around 170 experts and representatives from China and Japan have been present in the forum, including Deputy Director of the Chinese National Tourism Bureau Wei Hongtao, Director of the House of the Representatives of Japan Sukiyaki Taro, Deputy Director of Japan Association of Travel Agents Koji Kondo, Chinese representative of Pacific Asian Travel Association Wu Bo,  representatives from Japan National Tourist Organization,  representatives from World Tourism Cities Federation, representatives from World Tourism Organization and China Tourism Association, Mayors and directors of tourism departments of Japan and China and representatives from tourism agents, companies, airline companies, cruise companies and tourism colleges.

The forum just happens at the very right time. On one hand, China and Japan have established a normal diplomatic relation for 45 years until 2017. On the other hand, China is in the new era of “Tourism” and “National Tourism”. There is no doubt that the forum will effectively develop the communication and collaboration between Dalian and Japan as well as other countries and regions from northeast Asia.

With the theme of “Collaborate, Develop and Achieve Win-win Tourism for China and Japan”, the content of the forum is consistent with the theme of the present era. The speeches, mayor’s roundtables and sofa salons will focus on “Collaboration, Development and Win-win Achievements”. Various topics include “Establish collaborating organizations for local tourism between China and Japan”, “the Cruise Development”, “New Media”, “Big Data” “People-to-people Communication” and some other hot themes. All these topics will provide valuable and prolonged concept and directions for the development of the tourism industry. Especially in recent years, China has sharply developed cruise industry with the rapidest increase in the global market. At the same time, Dalian has also become the departure port since last year. The achievements of the forum will improve the establishment of Dalian cruise mother port.

Abundant activities will be involved during the forum.
