On June 16, Hideki Ishizuka, Consul General of the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou, led a delegation of Japanese-funded enterprises in Guangzhou to visit and inspect our city's enterprises to seek new ways of cooperation between the two sides in various fields. Yesterday, mayor Tan Chengxu met with all the members of the delegation in the VIP room of the municipal government, Yi Qingtao, secretary general of the People's Government of Dalian, and Koichi Maruyama, Consul General of the Japanese Consulate-General of Japan in Dalian, attended the meeting.

Tan Chengxu welcomed the delegation's visit and introduced the city's economic and social development. He said Dalian and Japan were geographically close, popular, business-related and had close contacts. A series of activities such as the Dalian Chinese Scholar Tress Appreciation Party and the "Canon Cup" Japanese Speech Contest had greatly promoted exchanges between Dalian and the Japanese business community, local governments and non-citizens. As of April this year, there were 4,802 Japanese investment enterprises in the company, with actual foreign investment of 18.62 billion US dollars. Dalian has successively concluded friendly cities with Kitakyushu City and Maizuru City, and has established friendly cooperative relations with Imari City, Kanazawa City, Tokyo Ota City and Osaka City. With 8 Japanese cities open direct flights, 175 round-trip flights per week, Dalian port and 5 Japanese ports became friendly ports. Tan Chengxu hoped that the delegation would take more walks and look around Dalian to further deepen their understanding of the city, feel the vitality of Dalian's development, explore ways of cooperation and exchange, and realize mutual benefit and win-win and common development.

Hideki Ishizuka fully affirmed Dalian municipal government's support and assistance to Japanese-funded enterprises. He said that Dalian, as an important city in northeast China, had great development advantages. The Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou would continue to play the role of a bridge and link to promote cooperation between various circles in Japan and Dalian in economic, trade, cultural and other fields to achieve more results.
