Shuishiyin Street in Lushunkou District reinforces water conservancy facilities and prepares against flood and drought

Shuishiyinn Street in Lushunkou District reinforces water conservancy facilities and prepares against flood drought for the stable development of agriculture and a good harvest.

Due to the continuous drought in recent years the street has took various   measures on water conservancy facilities. For example, more than 1.4 million yuan is invested in constructing the pool in Xigou Village to solve agricultural water problem, with about 0.55 km2 pool being built and 1.43 km river course being dredged. Meanwhile, the river banks are entrenched and sludge in the river was cleared. A flood-discharging project has also started involving slope protection, anti-seepage, as well as guard bar construction. The whole project whose water storage reaches 54,000 m3 can irrigate over 360 Mu of fruit trees and farmland.

The street has also reinforced flood control. It consolidates the Sigou reservoir which is over 30 years old based on the design standard of dealing with 50-year flood and on the check criteria of 500-year flood. The normal storage level is 57.77 m, normal storage is 1.0321 million m3, the water level of maintenance and design is 59.04 m, and storage is 1.2701 m3. Besides, the reservoir also meets the safe standard with its bank reinforced, its slope lawn built, its spindrift prevention wall supplemented, and its spillway broadened. The street organizes a special manager and a temporal manager to patrol the reservoir and report water regime every day. During the flood season, 24 hour watch can ensure the reservoir safety.
