Lushunkou District overcame drought in early spring and realizes a flourishing vegetable purchasing and marketing

The continuous high temperature in July affects agricultural industry, but it did not affect the enthusiasm of peasants.

It is the harvest time of various vegetables, such as cabbages, eggplants, peppers, kidney beans, tomatoes. Many peasants get up early at 4 am to pick vegetables and rest at 10 am to avoid the highest temperature in a day, and they continue their work at 3 pm until dark to ensure vegetable supply.

There is a lack of rain this summer in Lushunkou District, so the agricultural sector and agriculture-related sub-district offices actively mobilize water resources and guide drought resistance, which refrained the vegetable yields from much fluctuation, and some prices even slightly higher than ever. And it realized a flourishing vegetable purchasing and marketing and increased peasant’s income.
